Caprera Walking Concert

The Caprera Walking Concert was a selection of earlier works from Annabel Schouten and Gemma Luz Bosch, combined into a musical walk through the forst at Caprera, Bloemendaal. This concert was performed bij Annabel Schouten, Gemma Luz Bosch and Jurriaan de Vos. The audience started the experience with an introduction to the concept of a “forest bath”, and was then guided on their way. Soon they’d start hearing the first sounds of the Klinkboom in the distance.

After a small concert of a minimal music composition, the audience would be on their way again. Soon they’d encounter Annabel’s Spatial Bow: long strings strung through the forest that play the violin of the performer who walks along them. The long, moving tones blend into the environment, and lure the audience with them.

The performer brings the audience to an open field where, in two big circles, the installation Baden is laid out. The audience is invited to lay down on one of the air mattresses, and enjoy the composition. During 15 minutes, the audience experiences a composition of big blowers, whistling tubes, singing and other musical interventions. At the end they are gently lowered, to the ground. Their weight pushes the air through whistling tubes, so the presence of the audience creates and influences the closing chapter of this Walking Concert.
