In recent years Annabel Schouten created a number of performances to be experienced as a solo sensation for the audience; now the process of creation itself is also becoming more and more important for her.

In the making of Water Between Us, Schouten took her project on the road. Accompanied by her mobile atelier, a project called the Meemaker, Schouten brought the artistic process into public spaces. In a public park she popped up her atelier and started building new instruments. She let passers-by engage with her and her work, contribute and give their input. At Gaudeamus Festival, she invites the audience to step into her new work Water Between Us, a work that is created on location.
